SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIP GOALS

The Brooksdale Environmental Centre is a place of transformation. The flagship project of A Rocha Canada, Brooksdale is one of the most dynamic Christian environmental centers in North America. Brooksdale’s 18-acre property is a living lab comprised of forests, a threatened river system, organic gardens, and heritage houses. This unique combination of sensitive wildlife habitat and agricultural land makes Brooksdale more than a showpiece, but a place where critical environmental issues are researched, addressed, and solved. In addition to running a guest house for overnight retreats, we welcome Tatalu Conservation Residents (A Rocha’s “internship” program) and volunteers to join in our work.

First Prez and A Rocha are becoming partners and we are very excited about that! Our friends at A Rocha Canada have a lot to teach us about how we might be good stewards of the 246 acres of ‘aina entrusted to our care. Come dream with us as we explore what God might be calling us to do and how we as a church might grow in our care for God’s magnificent creation.

Cost and APPLICATION

Estimated Cost: $1080.

This is a preliminary cost estimate for planning purposes only. Estimate includes round trip air transportation between Honolulu and Vancouver, lodging and most meals, program fees and ground transportation. Actual costs may be higher or lower. Estimate does not include some meals, passport fees, tips, personal expenses or personal travel.
